Safe and Freezing in Scotland!

So this will be my second day in the house. I just finished breakfast; I just had some cereal and toast. I got into Edinburgh at about 11:05 yesterday. The flights all went well, they even went by a little quicker than I had originally expected but waiting around for the planes to take off and for the shuttle to come pick us up was a little long. The house is really cool and very old. They gave us a tour of it yesterday and we walked around outside the castle a little bit too. I’m very excited to do more of that today, after the rest of orientation. The house is absolutely freezing! Right now I’m wearing socks, soccer socks, and two pairs of pants, my under armor and a fleece pullover over that. I think I’m going to start wearing my little mittens too. It’s seriously that cold. I even wore my sweatshirt to bed last night! I have been a little homesick since I’ve gotten here, but I think a lot of that was because I was so tired. We had been up for over 30 hours before getting to sleep and I hadn’t slept hardly at all the last night I did get sleep. I’m still a bit tired today too, but it will get better. The people seem to be pretty cool. I’ve met a fair few already. I haven’t gotten to really go into town yet to meet any locals, but tonight I think a bunch of us are going to the pubs. Tomorrow we will get a tour of the Edinburgh castle and then on Sunday we have a scavenger hunt there as well. So I’m looking forward to that.

Okay, so we just got done with dinner and orientation for the day. We have one more activity later tonight, but we finally have some free time! We had one hour before dinner, so Megan and I went exploring and we found this SWEET fort/obstacle course/wooden playground ever!!! The slides were HUGE! It was super fun! We also found this underground tunnel off of the river but didn’t go in cuz we didn’t have a flashlight and it was pretty dark already. We will be going back soon tho! Just past that there was this super old super cool stone gazebo place. It was really big and there was an iron door that was chained shut underneath it. It was super cool looking cuz it was kinda creepy and the moon is absolutely huge and totally gorgeous too. So that added to the special effect. I think the weather is actually nicer outside than inside. I actually got hot when we were walking back to the castle! I was so excited!!! It was the warmest I’ve felt since I’ve gotten here! I loved it! Once we get more free time I’m sure I’ll be out there all the time! Well me and some people are heading to go find Tesco and walk around Dalkeith for a little bit, then after our activity we will probably try some of the pubs as well. So it should be a fun night! Hope you all are doing well! I miss you!!! :)

Packing!

So I'm just about done packing...I think. I keep trying to add stuff here and there, thinking I'll need it, but I prolly won't. IT's still so weird thinking that in a few short days I will be in Scotland. I've been planning on going there for forever it seems like. I can't believe it's finally here. I'm really really excited, but at the same time I keep getting more and more nervous for the final good byes. Me and megan are already expecting a total ball fest before we get on the plane so at least we are prepared for it! Anyways I will miss you all!!! To my friends in RF, live it up and have tons of fun this next semester! I hope it goes great! To everyone back home, it's been a great break, and I wish you luck over the next semester! I love you all!!! See you in four months!!! :)
